Laurie Penny is an award-winning writer of books, columns, essays, screenplays, novels, features and games.

Laurie writes and speaks about politics and pop culture and technology and sex and gender and science fiction and storytelling and social change. They are a graduate of the Clarion West Writers' Workshop and a fellow of the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard. Their essays, columns and features have appeared in The Guardian, the New Statesman, Wired Magazine, The New York Times, The Independent, The Baffler, Time Magazine and lots and lots of other places.

Laurie is the author of nine books.

As a screenwriter, Laurie has worked for HBO, Marvel Studios, Amazon, Netflix and NBC. Their credits include The Nevers, Carnival Row, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and several secret things that are still in production.
